After the drive back to the EVO X with the EVO IX, we must acknowledge our loss of passion the previous edition. The last-gen model very fundamental way in and almost can not be described as smooth, but after each shift turbo increase hits and felt as if someone kicked in the back provides a place to live. But it does not mean new EVO is not driving the explosion. Still have much power, and quickly rudder and grippy tires that give the same go-kart. Be not afraid: Under the upgraded interior and exterior stylish new rally car is still raw.
Unlike the boxy style of the EVO IX, EVO X contains the style crisp and toughens the new Lancer with air intake and ventilation hood. Bold fender flare compliment the aggressive nose hue kisi-kisi. A larger rear spoiler looks more into the design terintegrasi EVO X, and big brake brembo be clearly seen through the fingers of 18-inch wheels.
In, the material far better quality than IX. Recaro sports seats that not only provide a very good, they look good with the leather option and double-side roll stitches. A large number of high-end features now available, including 650-watt Rockford-Fosgate audio system, and a 30-performance hard drive-based navigation system with a lot of storage space for music. The downside to upgrade facilities is heavy - the EVO X has received about 300 pounds.
Discuss: How important to the car such as Mitsubishi EVO lineup?
Turbocharged Heart
At the heart of the EVO X is a new 2.0-liter DOHC turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 291 horsepower and 300 lb-ft 4400 rpm at torsi. This is higher than 5 horses and 11 lb-ft torsi the model out. The new machine provides kurva torsi wider, and revised Turbocharger diklaim provide 20 percent faster tanggap at lower engine speeds. We found this created for the acceleration is much more smooth than in the previous edition.
Two existing transmission - the new 5-speed manual or a new 6-speed, Twin-Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission (TC-SST). Similar to the Volkswagen DSG system, using the TC-SST dual grip, making changes almost immediately. TC-SST can digeser manually via magnesium paddle shifter on the column rudder, or be left shifts automatically.
Automatic friction, there are three different modes: Normal, Sport and S-Sport (Super Sport). Sports increased friction points higher RPM, the transmission holds the teeth longer and shifts more quickly than normal mode. S-Sport mode shifts more quickly, and for quality performance driving or track activities. At the track, TC-SST shifts faster than the limit of human ability, and in S-Sport mode, shifts seem to come exactly when expected.
Electricity to Pavement
New Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is equipped with the latest all-wheel-drive system called Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC). New system using a new acronym, such as Active Center Differential (ACD), Active Yaw Control (AYC), Active Stability Control (ASC) and Sport ABS brakes. We can write down articles on the respective technology, but let's just say that the S-AWC can set torsi delivered to each wheel individually.
At the autocross course, this system really shows the potential - the speed change control is impressive quality, and drivers can almost feel the car bergulat to traksi best. Wheelbase add a longer, more sweet suspension tuning, and become the best ever from Mitsubishi EVO handling. So to answer the questions raised initially - Is the new EVO better than before? - The answer is a firm, " 'yes."
